Muddy Water Chardonnay 2015 Waipara Valley
Quite a
complex bouquet – nutty, fruity, cashew and wood spices with a mild toastiness,
very youthful still; peach, Mayer lemon, apple, mineral. On the palate – spicy
acidity, highly textured and packed with white peach and citrus flavours, some
solids adding a flinty steely/mineral layer and complexity; the oak takes a
supporting role with some weight and gentle spice notes. Lengthy and intriguing
example. Drink now if decanted or from 2018 through 2030.
